Presents from our kids that spark joy

PREPARATION TIME: 0 minutes | AGE: 0 - 3 years old+

Our children have boundless love for us, and they often express it trough heartfelt gifts. These precious offerings can range from arts and crafts they create at kindergarten to drawings on paper, and sometimes even on walls, or they may present us with random stones or feathers they find on the playground.

When my son was little, I cherished every pebble he found, every flower he offered me, and every scribble he made. However, as time passed, the sheer volume of these tokens became overwhelming and burdensome. Consequently, I began to gather most of these treasures and store them in a box, which left me feeling a mix of sadness and concern that I wasn't adequately showing my son how much I cherished his displays of affection. It was then that I turned to Marie Kondo's wisdom and realized the need to strike a balance between what I keep in the memory box and what I choose to showcase or incorporate into our lives.

Now, I make a conscious effort to select the items that truly spark joy in my heart. I find special places to display them, bestowing upon them an honorable spot that fills me with happiness whenever I catch a glimpse. Moreover, I have found ways to incorporate some of these treasures into my daily life, giving them a practical and meaningful purpose. This approach not only honors my son's affectionate gestures but also brings a sense of joy and harmony to our living spaces.
